Please put " Youth name " in the memo line.

ONLINE DONATIONS:  Volunteers are credited for the full amount of an online donations. Please use the Websites Black Box "Donate by Clicking Here" to make your Online Donations. You will find these on most pages of the website. Please put " Youth name " in the memo line.

FUNDRAISING DONATIONS: Fundraisers vary in the amount raised, depending on the expenses related to the fundraiser. The volunteers are credited for their part of the funds raised, net of expenses.

WHY DO WE DO IT THIS WAY?
We are raising money to take a trip to Appalachia to help folks in need of home repair and to share God's love.  FOA Volunteers need to raise over $1000 per volunteer for the trip, over and above the expenses related to raising those funds.  Please ask a Board member or email helpbuildhope@gmail.com if you have any questions about the methodology related to dollars or hours credited for a particular fundraiser.  Remember, fundraising can be fun and a great chance to get to know people.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MONEY RAISED IF I DON'T GO ON THE TRIP?
The money we raise is the money required to fund the trip for the group. Many of our expenses are not strictly per person (dropping 1 volunteer doesn’t allow us to not rent a van) and/or are incurred well before the trip (we pay ASP deposits in January, March and May). Furthermore, contributions to the program are charitable donations to the ASP program, not to individuals.  We cannot refund money if someone drops out. We would encourage people who participate in fundraisers but are unable to go on the trip to consider that, even though they cannot attend, they have made a difference in the ongoing effort to eradicate substandard housing in Appalachia.

COVID-19 Update
The 2020 youth trip & adult trip were cancelled, but the funds raised were still
sent to ASP to support local staff efforts to alleviate substandard housing and bring hope to folks in need in Southern Appalachia.
If we are unable to attend in person in 2021, funds raised will be sent to ASP to help others.  You are the help someone else is praying for.
